Winterfest at Woodberry Down
On Wednesday 6th December, Berkeley, Notting Hill Genesis, Hackney Council and Manor House Development Trust hosted the annual Winterfest event at Woodberry Down. This popular event marks the start of the festive season, and hundreds of residents and friends from the wider community joined the celebrations.
The Mayor of Hackney, Caroline Woodley, started the celebrations by switching on the Christmas tree lights, followed by a jovial performance from resident jazz singer Matthew. Residents and visitors enjoyed minced pies, mulled wine and hot chocolate in The Rose Garden and everybody revelled in the festive spirit.
In the Redmond Community Centre at the centre of Woodberry Down, revellers enjoyed lots of different activities including wreath and jewellery making.
Justin Tibaldi, Divisional Managing Director at Berkeley Homes (Central) comments: “Winterfest is a fantastic example of how closeknit the Woodberry Down community is and is just one of many events we run throughout the year to bring people together. Berkeley creates places that are uniquely designed to provide a mix of homes and amenities for everyone to enjoy, and the thriving community at Woodberry Down, 14 years into the regeneration of this neighbourhood, is an exciting testament to our placemaking commitments and to our partnership with Manor House Development Trust, Notting Hill Genesis and Hackney Council.”
